Job Purpose:

The Project Officer will lead the timely and efficient implementation of all project activities under the Global Fund Grant and is responsible for delivering project results in alignment with UDHA’s core values. The Project Officer will work closely with the Program Manager and other project staff to ensure effective coordination and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Management of AGYW Prevention Structures and Activities:
    • Establish and manage AGYW prevention structures within the district.
    • Coordinate HIV/AIDS prevention activities among AGYW with existing stakeholders.
    • Monitor and evaluate AGYW prevention initiatives.
  2. TB Contact Tracing Activities:
    • Serve as the focal point for TB contact tracing within the district.
    • Collaborate with health facilities, community health workers, and partners for TB contact tracing.
    • Support neighboring districts lacking office-based staff for TB contact tracing.
  3. CBO Capacity Building:
    • Facilitate mentorship programs to enhance CBOs’ capacities in project management, reporting, and community engagement.
    • Support capacity-building initiatives in neighboring districts.
  4. General Duties:
    • Coordinate, plan, and report on project activities.
    • Prepare monthly and quarterly work plans and budgets.
    • Supervise and mentor frontline stakeholders to achieve project results.
    • Ensure proper resource utilization and accountability.
    • Represent UDHA in district sector working groups.
    • Build respectful relations with communities and stakeholders.
    • Develop and deliver project reports and presentations.
    • Conduct performance reviews and coordinate project meetings.
    • Ensure project quality and best practices in HIV/TB/AGYW and CBO programming.
    • Anticipate risks and develop mitigation strategies.
    • Plan for and coordinate daily project activities.
    • Maintain regular contact with partners and beneficiaries.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  1. Educational Background:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Social Work and Social Administration, Public Health, Community Psychology, or related Humanities fields.
    • Postgraduate Diploma in Project Planning and Management, Monitoring and Evaluation, Adolescent Sexual Reproductive Health, or Counseling in HIV/AIDS is an added advantage.
  2. Experience and Skills:
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in donor-funded organizations, particularly in rural communities focusing on HIV/TB/Adolescents.
    • Ability to ride a motorcycle and possess a valid riding permit.
    • Proficiency in DHIS2, eCBSS, and MS Excel is advantageous.
    • Familiarity with facility-level HMIS tools and registers.
    • Strong organizational, analytical, and multitasking skills.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

8 hours per day
