Makerere University Walter Reed Project (MUWRP) is a non-profit biomedical research organization dedicated to mitigating disease threats through quality research, healthcare, and disease surveillance. Established in 2002 through a partnership between The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine, Inc. (HJF) and Makerere University (Mak), MUWRP conducts medical research focusing on HIV vaccines and has expanded its portfolio to include vaccine research for Ebola, Marburg viruses, surveillance of influenza and other emerging infections, and PEPFAR-funded HIV treatment, care, and prevention programs.
