According to the family, Alwoc has been sent so that she could finish that which their mother had envisioned to do in the five – year term ending in 2026.
According to Moses Otyek Ogwal ‘s eldeat son, they are yet to disclose which political party they will be running under, he also added on that although Ms Alowc had been staying in the United kingdom for most of the time, she really understood the principles of her late mother and that’s why she was willing to contest.
Mrs Alwoc was not born in Dokolo nor grew up from there but she explained that mattered the most was how much she was able to deliver in line with her late mother’s principles. Mrs Alwoc is learned and holds a PhD in Economics
Apart from Ms Rosemary Alwoc, their are different people aiming for the same who are Ms Jane Rose Adong of the National Resistance Movement (NRM), and Ms Sarah Anguti Nyangkori of the Uganda Peoples Congress (UPC) who both contested with the late Cecilia Ogwal in 2021.
The Electoral Commission is however yet to declare the post vacant as it’s first notified by the Clerk of Parliament about the need to replace the vacant seat. It will also have to draft the roadmap for the whole electoral process concerning the seat.
