Minister of internal Affairs Gen kahinda ottafire informed the general public about the increament fees amendment for replacement of lost National identity cards. This comes a moment after the governments need to solict for 600billion to add new biometric features in the NIRA Data,
Gen ottafiire narrated that features would consist of whole facial features ie. Eyes, nose, ears and mouth. He further said that the move is directed towards ugandans carefully handling there National Identity Cards and not money gains
Some mp’s and other government leaders have already protested against the narrative urging that ugandans loose there national id’s in different ways, ie street robbery, fire burns, accidents etc and it wont be easy for the lay man to afford that money for replacement, comparing to todays economy.
