National Social Security Fund (NSSF) Uganda – Job Vacancies (August 2024)

The National Social Security Fund (NSSF) Uganda, established under the NSSF Act, Cap 222 Laws of Uganda, provides social security services to employees in the private sector, including NGOs. The fund serves as a provident fund, paying out contributions in a lump sum to protect employees against social and economic uncertainties. NSSF is currently seeking qualified candidates for various roles within the organization.

Available Positions

1. Senior Manager Applications

Job Purpose:
Responsible for maintaining, supporting, and upgrading existing systems and applications, and overseeing new development projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage application development and deployment.
  • Coordinate projects within the applications team.
  • Oversee the full development lifecycle of software systems.
  • Recommend and enforce change control processes.
  • Provide technical leadership and ensure quality assurance practices.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CCNP, CEH, ITILv3, etc.).

Experience:

  • 8 years in IT, with 4 years in a managerial role.

Key Competences:

  • Commitment & Integrity, Proactivity & Innovation, Problem-solving, and Technical Expertise.

2. Logistics Assistant

Job Purpose:
Provide support in transport and logistics for the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Transport executives, staff, and assets.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness and roadworthiness.
  • Record mileage and fuel refills.
  • Engage with stakeholders to achieve departmental objectives.

Education Requirements:

  • Valid Driver’s license with Class DM or D1.
  • O’Level certificate with passes in English and Mathematics.

Experience:

  • 3 years in a similar role in a busy corporate organization.

Key Competences:

  • Commitment & Integrity, Defensive driving, Customer service, and Documentation.

3. Transition Specialist

Job Purpose:
Oversee the quality, improvement, execution, and enforcement of the IT Change Control process.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage smooth transitions of changes from development to operations.
  • Schedule and resource management for change implementations.
  • Perform risk mitigation and impact analysis.
  • Prepare for and present changes to the Change Advisory Board (CAB).

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • ITIL® 4 foundation certification.

Experience:

  • 5 years in IT, with experience in IT Service Management.

Key Competences:

  • Commitment & Integrity, Proactivity & Innovation, Relationship Building, and IT Expertise.

4. Data Science Manager

Job Purpose:
Oversee the execution of data science frameworks and develop models to solve high-impact business issues.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement data science models.
  • Lead team efforts in data-driven solutions.
  • Communicate analytics model results.
  • Oversee data science teams and ensure quality performance.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or a numeracy-based field.
  • Professional certifications in data science (e.g., Microsoft Azure Data Scientist Associate).

Experience:

  • 7 years in data analysis or management, with 3 years at a managerial level.

Key Competences:

  • Commitment & Integrity, Proactivity & Innovation, Data Analysis, and Project Management.
