Kenzo Preaches Unity Among Creatives

Big Talent Boss Eddy Kenzo has preached unity among musicians, emphasizing its importance if they want the government to address their concerns.

Kenzo, who is also the President of the Uganda National Musicians Federation, made this appeal while accepting his appointment as a Senior Presidential Advisor for the Creative Industry.

Earlier this week, President Museveni appointed Kenzo to his advisory team, which includes a number of high-profile dignitaries.

“I thank H.E. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for trusting me with the role of Senior Presidential Advisor on Creatives. My passion for an inclusive industry has grown over time with much experience, hard work, and dedication in the music sector.” Kenzo posted on X.

Kenzo went on to express his gratitude to all creatives for their confidence in him. The UNMF consists of creatives from different disciplines, with a majority from music. These are organized into their respective associations of sub-regions. Kenzo commended them for what he called standing in unity for our common cause of fighting for what rightfully belongs to us.

“We shall continue to call for unity regardless of all challenges until we achieve an industry that we and our children can proudly participate in.” Musuuza said.

He pledged his commitment to ensuring that Ugandan art can cross borders and conquer the world market. Kenzo, a BET winner and Grammy nominee, believes his appointment will inspire young talents in the industry.

Much as the Sitya Loss Hitmaker’s job description entails advising the president, he has pledged to do more. Top of his agenda is leveraging his position to facilitate the swift passing of a strict law on intellectual properties. It’s on this rhythm that the Federation was founded last year despite receiving shs 5 billion from government.

“To my fans who have always supported me throughout my 15-year journey and still stand by me, thank you so much for bringing hope into the lives of broken stories. Let’s love our country because nobody can love Uganda more than us Ugandans,” Edrisah Musuuza concluded.
