Kamuli Orphanage Guard Charged With Aggravated Defilement Of Three Orphans

Police in Kamuli have arrested a 40 year old guard on allegations of rape and defilement. The guard, identified as Kizito Imulani has been detained at Kamuli Central Police station.

Kizito Imulani is to be charged with aggravated defilement of an eight-year old female orphan whose identity has been withheld for security purposes. Additionally, the security guard indecently assaulted two other orphans ages 8 and 10 in May 2024.

Kizito Imulani is said to have taken advantage of the orphans while on duty at Master Children Ministries and Orphanage. In 2024, he was hired to guard the premises and occupants of the Kamuli based orphanage

According to testimonies from the three victims, the suspect would inappropriately touch their body parts. Imulani’s intention of indecently touching the girls was to lure the unsuspecting minors into acts of sex.

Following a medical examination of the three victims, police established proof of sexual abuse of the minors.

Police spokesperson Fred Enanga commended the victims for exhibiting bravery to report their abuser to the relevant authorities.

“We are glad that the victims despite their age, took courage and reported the matter to the Matron, who alerted the school management and the police.” Police spokesperson Fred Enanga

Afande Enanga called upon persons in positions of protecting children not to violate the trust put in them.

“The suspect had held himself as a trusted protector of the orphans since 2023, but betrayed that trust, by harming them sexually and  physically.” Fred Enanga.

Kizito Imulani has been charged with Aggravated Defilement, in addition to two other counts of indecent assault.

Police intends to make Imulani’s arrest an example to all child predators. Over the years, activists have blamed Police for not protecting vulnerable children from predators.
