About the Role
The position of Human Resources Assistant (LE Services) is integral to the smooth operation of the U.S. Mission in Uganda. The selected candidate will be responsible for managing various aspects of the Local Employee (LE) Staff program. Key Responsibilities
As a Human Resources Assistant, your duties will include:
- Position Classification: Advising on and implementing classification decisions for various roles within the Mission.
- Personnel Actions: Preparing and processing all personnel actions, including hiring, resignations, disciplinary actions, and other employment changes.
- Staffing Plans: Developing and maintaining staffing plans to ensure the Mission’s workforce needs are met.
- Awards Program: Assisting with the administration of the Mission Awards program, recognizing and rewarding exceptional employee performance.
- Benefits and Compensation: Managing and processing benefits and compensation packages for LE Staff, ensuring compliance with both local laws and U.S. regulations.
- Record Maintenance: Keeping accurate and up-to-date personnel files and records.
- Reporting: Creating and delivering various reports, both regular and ad hoc, to support HR management and decision-making.
This role does not involve supervisory responsibilities but requires a high level of independence and initiative.

Educational Requirements
- Education: A minimum of a two-year general college education is required for this position.

- Knowledge: A solid understanding of local labor laws and social security legislation is essential. Additionally, knowledge of current recruitment trends and norms will be highly beneficial.
