About UNOC:

The Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC) Ltd, established under the Petroleum Acts of 2013 and incorporated under the Companies Act of 2012, is dedicated to managing the State’s commercial interests in the Oil and Gas industry, ensuring sustainable exploitation of resources.

In collaboration with the Uganda Petroleum Institute Kigumba (UPIK), UNOC invites applications for fully funded 6G Coded Welding training and certification in accordance with ASME IX standards, aiming to foster expertise in Uganda’s Oil and Gas Sector.

Scholarship Details:

• Number of Scholarships: Twenty (20)
• Nature of Training: Full Time
• Institute of Training: Uganda Petroleum Institute Kigumba (UPIK)
• Duration of Training: Eight (8) Weeks

Eligibility Criteria – IVQ (Welding, Fabrication & Pipework):

1. Ugandans 18 years and above originating from all districts of Uganda.
2. Holders of a National Vocational and Technical Crafts certificate in Welding and Metal fabrication and 3G coded welding certificate certified by recognized entities.
3. Basic English reading and writing skills, good mathematical and physics skills (basic knowledge in electricity).
4. Good eyesight and physical and medical fitness.
5. Preference given to applicants previously trained in welding with proof of 3G Coded Welding Certification.
6. Participants must commit to staying at the training center for the entire duration of the course.
7. Female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
8. Applicants should present evidence of Ugandan citizenship.
