Qualifications & Experience:
- A recent degree in Mass Communication from UCU with first-class honors or second class upper, preferably Print major (Must have not graduated earlier than 2021).
- Must be conversant with modern editing software including InDesign and have the ability to design pages for the newspaper.
- Must have good writing skills, a desire to look for stories, and deliver them in a timely manner.
- Must have strong photography skills.
- Must be able to work under minimum supervision for long hours, weekends inclusive.
- A committed Christian who is honest and trustworthy.
Main Duties and Relationships:
- News gathering of UCU community events and its neighborhood.
- Writing stories, news, and editing.
- Photography of events covered.
- Any other official duties assigned by The Standard Supervisor.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree (at least 2:1) from Uganda Christian University (Must have graduated not earlier than 2022).
- Must have been a student of Honours College.
- Must have excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Internet).
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have good interpersonal skills especially when dealing with students, staff, and visitors.
- Must be a person of high integrity with excellent working ethic.
- Must be a committed and practicing Christian.
Key Competencies & Responsibilities:
- Orienting new students into the academic life of the Honours College.
- Follow up on the students’ academic responsibilities.
- Offer emotional, social, and other forms of support bearing to students’ academic welfare.
- Reading & offering necessary assistance in writing advanced assignments.
- Handling applications and other correspondences related to the recruitment of students.
- Receiving students’ work.
- Handling all updates on social media platforms.
- Any other official duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
