This role is within the Programme Development and Quality Team, focusing on identifying and tracking donor opportunities and coordinating proposal development. The role involves developing fundraising strategies and donor engagement plans to attract proper donor support and grow our portfolio effectively.

    Key Areas of Accountability:

    • New Business Development: Identify funding opportunities, support cultivation of business relationships, manage the BD pipeline, and develop concepts and proposals.
    • Donor and Partner Engagement: Cultivate relationships with donors, represent the Uganda office in forums, and update donor mapping tools and engagement plans.
    • Proposal Development: Lead proposal development, manage multi-themed consortia, and coordinate inputs from various teams.
    • Capacity Strengthening: Review internal processes, run training sessions, and ensure ongoing improvement in proposal development processes.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Relevant Master’s Degree or equivalent professional experience.
    • Recommended 7 years’ experience in emergency and/or development contexts.
    • Excellent coordination, interpersonal, and communication skills.
    • Experience in developing large-scale proposals and budgets.
    • Strong cultural awareness and ability to work in diverse environments.
    • Fluency in English and commitment to Save the Children values.

    Management Skills:

    • Ability to manage small teams and create a motivating team environment.

    Desirable:

    • Experience with donors like EU/ECHO, USAID, FCDO, and UN agencies.

    Job Title: Safeguarding Coordinator

    Duty Station: Northern and West Nile regions, Uganda

    Type: Full Time

    Summary:
    Join Save the Children as a Safeguarding Coordinator to drive safeguarding efforts across the West Nile and Northern regions. This role involves monitoring, capacity building, compliance enforcement, and advocacy. The coordinator will work closely with the National Safeguarding Manager and regional project managers.

    Key Areas of Accountability:

    • Safeguarding Standards: Implement and monitor safeguarding policies, ensure compliance, and integrate safeguarding into project activities.
    • Leadership and Advocacy: Act as a safeguarding leader, advocate at national levels, and develop local safeguarding procedures.
    • Training and Capacity Building: Plan and deliver training programs, mentor staff, and establish strong safeguarding procedures.
    • Safe Programming: Ensure safe programming practices across all activities, support staff in risk identification, and act as a safeguarding ambassador.
    • Reporting: Implement complaint/feedback mechanisms, address safeguarding concerns, and develop reporting tools and procedures.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Humanities.
    • At least 4 years’ experience in child protection or training in an INGO.
    • Leadership experience within an INGO or similar organization.
    • Experience in managing and conducting safeguarding investigations.
    • Strong advocacy and training skills.
    • Fluency in English and commitment to Children’s Rights.
