Position Description
The job holder will oversee the product, brand, and trade marketing activities, drive brand awareness across various categories & products, and partner with in-country P&L owners to support in attaining d.light Uganda’s profitability and revenue targets.
The ideal candidate is someone with extensive experience in product, brand, consumer, and trade marketing and in-trade execution in Uganda, as well as the ability to establish strong relationships throughout the organization and support business leaders in multiple locations and diversified cultures.
Responsibilities and Roles (R&Rs)
- Develop and execute the annual marketing plan aligned to the company strategy and Africa marketing priorities.
- Implement brand strategy to create an emotional connection between products, d.light, our customers, and our partners.
- Develop and implement channel and consumer initiatives to support market positioning and brand growth aligned with the Uganda and Africa marketing strategy.
- Spearhead marketing operations & execution, ensuring quality and consistency aligned with global brand guidelines.
- Manage, monitor, and track the allocated country marketing budget to deliver initiatives within budget and achieve ROI.
- Lead & create a climate that attracts, retains, and motivates quality & engaged team members.
- Manage and drive presence and engagement on critical social media platforms.
- Support all customer experience initiatives as required.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing. A postgraduate degree in a related field is desirable.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in marketing.
- Ability to adapt global best practices to local contexts.
- Experience in developing & executing marketing strategies in a mid-size or large corporate environment.
- Demonstrated analytical capability to utilize data trends & analysis to guide business decisions.
- Commercial acumen to support marketing plans for profitability and revenue generation.
- Experience leading a team in a fast-paced environment, preferably Telco, FMCG, or Service.
- Strong mindset for continuous improvement and exceeding expectations.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills, with an emphasis on tact and diplomacy.
- Business-driven with exceptional influencing skills; excellent organizational, multi-tasking, presentation, and time-management skills.

Position Description
The job holder will identify and drive new business opportunities and achieve overall sales and revenue goals within a defined business line. This will involve actualizing new partner acquisitions and upselling initiatives to existing partners and customers in Uganda.
Responsibilities and Roles (R&Rs)
- Manage grants and donations.
- Handle proposals, submissions/bids, and contracts.
- Participate in new business contract negotiations.
- Research business opportunities and viable income streams.
- Deliver sales volume and market share at optimal cost.
- Develop growth strategies/plans focused on financial gain and customer satisfaction.
- Evaluate new opportunities to ensure resources focus on the best opportunities.
- Develop, manage, and retain relationships with existing clients, potential clients, influencers, and key stakeholders.
- Increase client base by generating and seeking out potential new opportunities.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of business products and value proposition.
- Monitor competitors and review employer’s offering in light of competitors’ developments.
- Identify and map business strengths and customer needs.
- Follow industry trends locally and internationally.
- Report on successes and areas needing improvements.
- Prepare analytical and performance reports for management and Board purposes.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in sales & marketing or a relevant field. A graduate degree in a related field is desirable.

- Experience leading in a fast-paced environment, partnering with senior business leaders.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills, with an emphasis on tact and diplomacy.
- Basic computer skills, with superior Excel skills.
- Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to follow through on client contracts.
- Ability to multitask and manage more than one client account.
- Proven results in delivering client solutions and meeting sales goals.
