Job Title: Finance Officer

Job Summary: Self Help Africa (SHA) seeks a detail-oriented Finance Officer to oversee daily accounting transactions, financial reporting, and compliance with financial policies. Reporting to the Head of Finance and Administration, this role ensures efficient financial systems and supports project financial management across our operations in Uganda.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage integrated financial management and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with finance-related policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and review donor financial reports.
  • Supervise accounting processes including bank reconciliations and payments.
  • Support audit processes and implement audit recommendations.
  • Train and support staff on financial management.
  • Other finance-related tasks as assigned.

Knowledge, Qualifications, and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • CPA or ACCA certification preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in finance or accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
  • Ability to manage financial systems and processes effectively.

Job Title: Nutrition, Gender and WASH Advisor

Job Summary: Join SHA as the Nutrition, Gender and WASH Advisor to lead in integrating nutrition-sensitive agriculture, gender equality, and WASH initiatives into our programs in Uganda. This role supports program design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation to ensure high-quality, impactful projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement nutrition, gender, and WASH components in projects.
  • Provide technical support and capacity building to staff and partners.
  • Facilitate programmatic learning and knowledge sharing.
  • Manage project work plans and reports.
  • Engage in networking and advocacy efforts in the sector.

Knowledge, Qualifications, and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Public Health, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in nutrition, gender, and WASH program management.
  • Strong technical knowledge and experience in project cycle management.
  • Excellent communication and training skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and travel nationally and internationally.
