About the Position:
Walimu is seeking a Development Officer to execute our growth strategy. You will cultivate relationships with funders, manage partnerships, lead fundraising initiatives, and oversee communications to advance our mission of building a healthier Uganda.
Responsibilities:
- Strategy (20%): Develop growth strategies in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Fundraising (50%): Administer fundraising efforts including proposal development and diversifying funding sources.
- Relationship Cultivation (20%): Manage external relationships with funders, universities, and partners.
- Communications (10%): Oversee communication strategies and activities.

About the Position:
As a Programs Manager, you will oversee health program implementation, budget management, monitoring and evaluation, and reporting. You will provide technical guidance, ensure program quality, and foster collaboration with health partners.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical program supervision and guidance.
- Define program objectives and monitor activities.
- Establish monitoring mechanisms and analyze results.
- Coordinate with health partners for smooth program implementation.
- Compile and disseminate project data and reports.
- Ensure program compliance with health guidelines and protocols.
- Lead the design and conduct of surveys and evaluations.
- Provide technical leadership for MEAL processes and accountability mechanisms.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Medicine & Surgery required.
- Master’s in Public Health or related field preferred.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience managing health projects.
- Experience in budget management and donor compliance.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Willingness to travel to support field activities.
