Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) is a semi-autonomous agency of the Government responsible for maintaining, coordinating, supervising, and monitoring the National Statistical System. UBOS ensures the collection, analysis, and dissemination of standardized statistical information, serving as the principal official statistics producing agency in Uganda.
Job Summary:
The Data Matching Editing Supervisor will oversee the effective supervision of the Post Enumeration Survey (PES) in the designated area.
Job Purpose:
UBOS intends to conduct the PES and is seeking highly competent, motivated, results-oriented individuals with integrity to facilitate this exercise.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Attend and participate in all training sessions.
- Scrutinize data edited by matching staff.
- Compile a list of unmatched records for reconciliation visits.
- Supervise field reconciliation visits.
- Maintain all PES materials and equipment in optimal condition.
- Assign tasks to matching staff.
- Compile the PES 2024 editing, matching, and reconciliation report.
- Ensure timely handover of PES materials and tools to the immediate supervisor.
- Perform any other duties assigned for the PES.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Quantitative Economics, Computer Science, or IT.
Experience:
- Three months of continuous experience in Data Editing.
Required Skills:
- Minimum one year of practical experience as a statistician or editor.
- Proficiency in statistical packages such as STATA, Excel, and Computer Assisted Personal Interview applications.
- Strong data management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
- Clear and concise oral and written communication abilities.
- Availability exclusively for the PES activity.
- Experience in compiling statistics from a reputable organization is an added advantage.
