Job Purpose:
The Collections Manager will oversee the entire credit quality aspects of the Bank, including monitoring the repayment progress and recovery initiatives for delinquent accounts, and collections from the dead book.
Key Result Areas:
- Develop strategies to meet annual risk appetite targets.
- Take proactive actions monthly to ensure timely loan installment payments.
- Identify and track technical arrears monthly, resolving each client’s case to prevent recurrence.
- Implement a comprehensive plan to improve OBUL’s delinquency ratios to industry best practice levels.
- Develop and oversee the implementation of annual work plans, business plans, and credit systems in line with Bank of Uganda Regulations, bank policies, and customer expectations.
- Review and update Collections policies, procedures, and work processes, ensuring service delivery aligns with strategic plans and regulations.
- Submit Credit reports to stakeholders including the Board, Central Bank, Executive Management, and auditors.
- Provide leadership and supervision of Credit staff, managing their performance and development.
- Identify and mitigate risk factors in the Collections Unit in line with bank policies.
- Ensure compliance with Credit Operations, BOU regulations, budget parameters, and internal policies.

- Ability to balance, prioritize, and organize multiple tasks.
- Attention to detail and awareness of deadlines.
- Customer service skills, including managing difficult situations and responding to customer needs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, or any business-related field.
- Postgraduate qualifications such as an MBA or similar qualifications in credit-related fields are an advantage.
- At least 5 years of lending experience, with a minimum of 2 years at a supervisory level managing a team.
- Experience in credit administration and lending, with a track record of developing supporting systems and procedures.

Job Purpose:
To ensure the achievement of organizational goals by leading the development and marketing of the Bank’s products and services. Responsible for sales campaigns in the branch network and developing marketing strategies to drive business growth. Coordinating social media (digital) marketing for OBUL and fostering socially responsible corporate citizenship.
Key Result Areas:
Strategic Planning and Business Strategy:
- Develop and implement a communication strategy aligned with the bank’s strategic plan.
- Design, implement, and facilitate the development of the annual marketing plan.
- Oversee product development and promotion.
- Plan and administer the Marketing Operations budget and support branch marketing budgets.
- Collaborate with Executive Management to conceptualize plans for market position and growth.
- Assist the Business Head in preparing strategic business plans and marketing strategy.
Product and Business Development:
- Implement structured marketing campaigns and package products/services to meet sales and market share targets.
- Produce marketing materials such as leaflets, posters, flyers, newsletters, and e-newsletters.
- Develop and document new product methodologies, ensuring customer-focused and innovative products.
- Ensure operational and management team involvement in product/market development decisions.
Public Relations (Communication and External Affairs):
- Maintain good media, government, and community relations.
- Network with stakeholders including customers, colleagues, suppliers, and partners.
- Ensure corporate standards and guidelines are implemented and maintained.
- Produce publications and marketing materials in line with corporate guidelines.
- Organize and attend events such as conferences, seminars, and exhibitions.
- Track product awareness, perceptions, and needs with head office and branch offices.
- Develop an effective internal staff communication strategy.
Customer Care and Service:
- Maintain a professional image and accurate portrayal of business strategies across social media platforms.
- Manage customer queries and complaints, conducting client satisfaction surveys and development activities.
- Ensure high-quality service standards in responding to inquiries, requests, and issues.
Human Resources Management:
- Responsible for the performance management of line staff.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field.
- Professional qualification in Marketing (CIM), chartered marketer.
- 3 years’ experience in marketing management, preferably in a customer-oriented business organization.
