Job Details
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain general ledgers, cash books, debtor and creditor ledgers, fixed asset registers, and job cost ledgers.
- Ensure reliability and accuracy of data entered into the financial accounting system.
- Reconcile statements monthly to ensure all checks have been accounted for.
- Prepare statutory returns, including VAT, PAYEE, and NSSF returns.
- Prepare and produce periodic financial statements.
- Oversee the filing of all accounting records, both in use and archived.
- Support accounts assistants in recording cash and cheque transactions.
- Update all books of accounts and balance them with the general ledger regularly and timely, ensuring reconciliation statements are prepared on time.
- Reconcile manual records of debtors, creditors, and all other liability accounts with computerized records and follow up on errors.
- Cross-check all expenditure vouchers prepared by the accounts assistant to certify their genuineness.
- Support the Finance Manager in preparing for auditors and providing timely responses to auditors’ queries, comments, and recommendations.
- Review expense, payroll entries, invoices, local purchase orders, and other accounting documents.
- Manage and update the fixed assets register.
Job Requirements
- Graduate of Commerce, Accounts, Finance, or Business Administration with accounting or finance as a major.
- Professional Qualification: CPA (Minimum Level 3).
- At least five years of continuous practical experience.
- Knowledge of Tally and related accounting software.
- Highly knowledgeable in accounting concepts, conventions, and standards.
- Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Excel and Word.
- Self-driven, innovative, and able to work long hours under minimum supervision.
- High degree of integrity.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Job Details
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced retired military officer to oversee all aspects of security on our working farm located in Masindi, Uganda.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and enforce comprehensive security plans to safeguard personnel, property, livestock, crops, and equipment at our Masindi farm.
- Conduct regular patrols of the farm perimeter, buildings, and grounds, identifying and mitigating potential security risks.
- Oversee a team of security guards (if applicable), providing training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
- Manage and maintain security equipment, including access control systems, cameras, and alarms.
- Liaise with local law enforcement to report incidents and develop collaborative security measures.
- Respond to security emergencies, ensuring the safety of personnel and assets.
- Conduct investigations into security breaches, thefts, or vandalism.
- Maintain detailed security reports and logs.
- Enforce farm safety regulations and procedures.
- Manage access control, screening visitors and vendors.
- Serve as a fire warden, ensuring proper fire safety protocols are followed.
Qualifications:
- Retired military officer with experience in security and patrol operations.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and direct a team.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
- Knowledge of security protocols and risk management techniques.
- Familiarity with farm operations and potential security threats in a rural setting (a plus).
- Experience using security equipment and technology (a plus).
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent physical condition for patrolling and responding to emergencies.
- Military experience, particularly in security or law enforcement roles, is a strong plus.
