Position Summary: The Field Officer will work with HAC staff and partners (mainly Government Health Facilities and rural communities) to conduct community organizing activities, expand work to new villages and districts, collect relevant data, and network with relevant officials.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Data Entry and Maintenance:
- Accurately enter patient information, medical records, test results, and treatment details into the Health Facility’s electronic information systems.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date paper-based records as needed.
Data Verification and Cleaning:
- Regularly review and verify the accuracy and completeness of data entered in the paper and electronic data collection tools.
- Identify and rectify discrepancies or errors in the data, collaborating with relevant departments as necessary.
- Provide weekly data extracts from the electronic medical systems and register entry gaps to guide the site level data day exercises.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Take the lead in generating accurate and timely reports for internal and external stakeholders. Prepare summaries, dashboards, and charts for data-driven decision-making.
- Ensure timely and reliable submission of required reports in MoH, PEPFAR, and Program supported platforms like SURGE, DHIS2, PIRS, trackers, etc.
Data Integrity and Confidentiality:
- Maintain the highest level of patient data confidentiality and adhere to data protection regulations.
- Safeguard patient records and information from unauthorized access.
- Follow established data backup procedures and security protocols for all hard and electronic records.
- Contribute to the development and enforcement of data security measures.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Coordinate with healthcare workers, HIV program IP staff, and IT personnel to address data-related needs and challenges.
- Participate in section meetings and discussions to provide input on data management processes.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of a Diploma in Information and Communication Technology, Statistics, Medical Records, or any other related field of study.
- A Degree is of an added advantage.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Other Desired Attributes:
- Ability to speak fluently in written and spoken English.
- Fluency in commonly spoken local languages is an added advantage.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Self-driven, result-oriented, and able to work under minimum supervision.
Physical Ability:
- Ability to permanently reside in Luwero/Nakasongola.
Supervisory Controls: The individual will serve under the immediate supervision of the Program Officer Key Population.
