Our projects span multiple districts in Uganda, including Sironko, where we are currently looking to recruit data collectors.

Job Summary:

We are seeking 20 Data Collectors to join our Planning, Evaluation, and Learning department for a critical baseline household survey in Sironko district. The position involves collecting accurate and confidential data over a one-month period, with a possibility of extension.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in training on evaluation procedures and tools.
  • Pretest and refine data collection tools.
  • Conduct informed consent processes with local leadership and households.
  • Follow the scheduled work plan to achieve daily targets while ensuring data quality.
  • Conduct interviews and ensure adherence to data collection guidelines.
  • Code, verify, and clean collected data, maintaining confidentiality.
  • Manage and safeguard data collection tools such as tablets and computers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by RTV personnel.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Business, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in data collection is essential.
  • Strong probing skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with research methods is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Excel and digital data collection tools (Survey CTO, Survey 123).
  • Ability to follow data collection protocols and work effectively both in a team and independently.
  • Excellent communication skills and understanding of data ethics.
  • Willingness to work in remote and challenging terrains.
  • Fluent in English, Lumasaaba, Luganda, and Lugisu.
