Hassan Muhamud Completes Transfer To KCCA FC

Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Football Club has completed the signing of versatile center back Hassan Muhamud.

Hassan Muhamud has joined the Kasasiro Boys on a two-year deal. His contract is expected to run down at the end of the 2025–26 season. Muhamud joins KCCA as a free agent, further intensifying the conversation about players in the Ugandan transfer market always being free agents.

Over the past years, there have been minimal reports of clubs paying others to acquire signatures of players. The majority of players join clubs, sometimes even rivals of their former clubs, after running down their contracts.

While speaking to the club media team after completing his transfer, Muhamud expressed his gratitude to the club for appreciating him. He also stressed how this move has helped him tick a box in his childhood dreams.

“I am delighted to join KCCA FC. It is every player’s desire to play for a club like KCCA FC. I have a good relationship with the manager and he has shared with me his plans. I am certain that we can achieve so much as a unit. The club has fantastic players and this kind of competition keeps every player on their toes and it is healthy for all of us.” Hassan Muhamud.

Muhamud’s versatility enables him to comfortably carry out duties across the entire backline. Additionally, he would provide cover for Joel Sserunjogi in defensive midfield.

Hassan Muhamud’s brief profile

Much as he is a free agent, Hassan Muhamud travels to Lugogo with a wealth of league experience. He has played for the Wankulukuku-based Express FC and Police FC. Similarly, the defender had a stint in Arua with Onduparaka FC.Not only does he have league experience in Uganda but also across the border. Hassan’s career has seen him play a couple of years in the wealthy Tanzania Premier League. While in Tanzania, he played for Geita Gold FC and Mbeya City FC.

Muhamud’s experience is not just limited to his illustrious club career but also spans the national team. He has represented Uganda at the CHAN finals. Muhamud’s transfer communicates a big statement ahead of Abdallah Mubiru’s first full season in charge of KCCA. He becomes the seventh signing for the Kasasiro Boys, who had an underwhelming season by their standards despite a promising second half of the season.

Other signings include Sharifu Ssengendo and Steven Munguchi, who joined from relegated Gadaffi FC. Emmanuel Anyama joined from Big League side Kaaro Karungi and Kwikiriza Shafik from BUL.The other duo that was poached from under the nose of Vipers are left back Isa Mubiru and the mercurial Bright Anukani.
