The proposal comes in after numerous reports of Ugandans who have been stuck in different countries, most of these have expired work contracts and find it difficult to renew them or even making their way back to Uganda.

Government however says that it’s working towards the creation of a mobile application where all those going abroad in search for greener pastures can register freely before going. This will help in keeping a track record of whoever goes abroad, it will also reduce on the numbers of Ugandans stranded abroad as they will be monitored via the application.
