Lt. Gen. Proscovia Nalweyiso has warned artist Alien Skin to stop wearing military camouflage.
Uganda’s highest-ranking female soldier issued the warning while on a local YouTube channel.
She advised the Fangone Forest boss to join the military if he wants to don their attires.
“I know you [Alien Skin] have fans that support you, but don’t wear our [UPDF] uniforms,” Nalweyiso said.
General Nalweyiso also warned Alien Skin to stop moving with what she called gangs. Recently, the sight of musicians and artists moving with a squad of over 10 people has been common in Kampala.
These squads, referred to as “egaali,” loosely translated as bicycle, have been notorious for disrupting bystanders.
Alien Skin is one of the artists that move around with the biggest squads, with his gaali reaching up to 20 youth.
However, according to General Nalweyiso, this is very unfortunate and should be stopped. She implored police and security organizations to end this madness before it’s too late.
“If you cannot control the youths in your squads, do not move around with them. Do not destroy our country.” General Nalweyiso.
She also questioned the thought process behind moving with such large squads.
“I wonder why they do so. I remember one time Dr. Kizza Besigye ferried a large group of people to go to the bank. It doesn’t make sense,” Gen. Nalweyiso said.
The former Bush War fighter also warned security operatives to stop blackmailing her. According to her, whenever she warns someone about their conduct, police arrest the person and say she influenced the arrest. She cited the case of city socialite Sipapa, who is facing charges of theft among others.
