Former inspector General of Police Gen. Edward Kale Kayihura has interestingly made a spectacular presence in Kigezi Sub-district a long time since President Museveni endorsed his capture.

After Kayihura’s capture, he was charged by the general court-military with inability to safeguard war materials, inability to regulate Police officers and  abduct. The military Prosecutiors additionally indicated him for inability to manage and guarantee accountability for guns and ammo that were given to specific units in the police like the Flying squard Unit, crime intelligence and special operations Unit and Witness protection Unit.

Thus, Gen Kayihura was confined from making travel in and outside the country.
In 2021, the General Court Military judge Lt. General Andrew Gutti wrote to the chief of Defense Forces  CDF asking about President Museveni’s guarantee to have the charges against the previous police boss, Gen. Edward Kale Kayihura dropped.
During the 2021 general political rallies, NRM leaders in the area drove by Kisoro locale LC 5 administrator Abel Bizimana requested that Museveni pardon Kayihura who is fighting charges of inability to safeguard war materials, inability to supervise Police officers and abductions.
In his reaction, Museveni said Kayihura was their NRM supporter  and vowed to converse with UPDF Prosecutors and have him pardoned.
On Wednesday, April 19, Gen Kayihura showed up at the Katuna-Gatuna boarder resuming Thanksgiving and Rukundo Egumeho show directed at Kigezi Secondary School field in Kabale region.

Without uncovering anything, Gen Muhoozi who is likewise the first son welcomed his partner Gen Kayihura,  which ignited happiness among a segment of Kisoro region leaders.
Kisoro region director Abel Bizimana and Bufumbira North District Individual from Parliament John Nizeyimana Kamara requested that Gen Muhoozi connect with the President to guarantee that Kayihura is totally liberated and retired after a heavy punishment
The team contended that Gen Kayihura began many activities in Kisoro that employed  a few young people and have since declined since his developments were confined.
