Overview
The European Union, in partnership with the African Union, is offering the European Commission Intra Africa Scholarship as part of the Intra Africa Academic Mobility Scheme. This fully funded scholarship is designed to support the sustainable development of African countries by enhancing higher education opportunities, improving career prospects, and fostering intercultural understanding.

Eligibility Criteria
- Students:
- Citizenship: Applicants must be citizens of African countries and currently residing within the continent.
- Academic Level: Open to Master’s and Doctoral level students.
- Enrollment Status: Must be enrolled in, admitted to, or have graduated from a higher education institution in Africa.
- Mobility Duration: The scholarship can be used for either a short-term exchange or a full academic program.
- Traineeships:
- Eligibility: Open to students enrolled in Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD programs at African universities participating in the intra-African consortiums selected as of 2023.
- Placement Requirements: Trainees will undertake placements in countries other than their home and nationality, working with public or private organizations.
- Staff:
- Eligible Personnel: Academic, administrative, and technical staff from higher education institutions participating in the Intra-Africa consortia.
- Activity Types: Opportunities include teaching assignments, research projects, administrative duties, training course attendance and delivery, curriculum development, technical assistance, and more.

- All African countries are eligible to apply for this scholarship program.
Application Procedure
Required Documents:
- Application Form: Complete and submit the official application form.
- Academic Transcripts: Provide official transcripts from all previous academic work.
- Letters of Recommendation: Two recommendation letters are required.
- Passport Copy: Submit a copy of the photo page of your passport.
- Motivation Letter/Statement of Purpose: A letter detailing your reasons for applying and your career goals.

- The application process is ongoing, with applications accepted on a rolling basis.
