Urban music sensation Elijah Kitaka has silenced conversations of an upcoming concert.
The Dawa hit maker expressed his reservations against staging a mega concert while speaking at the sidelines of an event in Kampala on Wednesday night.
“To make a concert, you must have passed through a journey. You need to have prepared for it (concert) with a catalogue of numerous songs. Even the fans should be able to associate with your story having watched you grow.” Elijah Kitaka.
Additionally, Kitaka cautioned young artists against getting tempted to skip building blocks. Despite having arguably the biggest hit in the country, Dawa, Kitaka maintained his humility warning that one hit song shouldn’t make an artist punch above their weight.
Kitaka also confirmed his involvement in the Swangz All Star Album slated for release in September. The highly anticipated album’s production saw the entire Swangz Avenue creative force fly to Zanzibar for a week-long bootcamp.
He also backed fellow Swangz Avenue artist Vinka real names Nakiyingi Veronica Lugya for not rushing to hold a concert. Due to her plethora of hit songs, the Love Panic hitmaker has consistently resisted calls by her fans to stage a concert. However, Kitaka believes that once she does hold one, it will be a memorable one owing to her longevity in the music industry.
Over the last year, Elijah Kitaka has consistently built a brand for himself in the Ugandan music industry. This year alone, he has released two singles, ‘Touch and Continue’ and Dawa which took the country by storm.
His other releases “Tutu Mama,” and “Nothing” are also the top 100 digitally streamed songs on Apple Music in Uganda. Tutu Mama is off the Bedroom Essentials EP which also has Tippy Toe, Play Time and Kontrol.
