Elijah Kitaka Releases New Single, Dawa

Singer Elijah Kitaka has released yet another song, “Dawa,” as his star in the Ugandan music industry rises.

The Swangz Avenue ace’s latest single comes just days after the music conglomerate announced plans to record an all-star album featuring all artists on its roster.

The song, written by city producer Daddy Andre, is a perfect blend of romance and rhythm. Kitaka, who is one of Uganda’s most digitally streamed artists, expects “Dawa” to maintain this status quo.

As you may know, “Dawa” is Swahili for medicine, a remedy for sickness. The song’s lyrics express love and longing; Kitaka compares his sweetheart to a remedy he can’t get enough of. In “Dawa,” Elijah Kitaka pours his heart out as he expresses his deep yearning for the love of his life. He sings about how he misses his lover each time she is not with him like a drug.

With his soothing vocals, Elijah connects emotionally and intimately with his significant other in the song. Not only did the creatives at Swangz ensure that “Dawa” provides eargasms, but they also delivered stunning visuals.

Under the direction of Aaronaire, the video complements the song’s theme perfectly. Featuring stunning choreography and breathtaking cinematography, the video creates a mesmerizing viewing experience.

The video, which is primarily set against the background of an estate house, gives viewers an overwhelming array of colors and motions while conveying the foundation of the song’s message. Kitaka, who is famous for his fashion statements, didn’t disappoint in the video. Elijah and his main vixen express elegance and style in their outfits.

A consistent Elijah Kitaka

Dawa is Elijah Kitaka’s second release this year, following “Touch and Continue”. “Tutu Mama,” and “Nothing” are in the top 100 digitally streamed songs on Apple Music in Uganda. Tutu Mama is off the Bedroom Essentials EP which also has Tippy Toe, Play Time and Kontrol.
