Rule 21(2) of the parliamentary procedures permits a committee to put a witness on oath before an examination happens.
“The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Jane Frances Abodo has consented to the charges. The Police have been directed to produce the Minister in court for plea on (April 6),” the Office of Directorate of Public Prosecution tweeted on Wednesday evening.
While appearing in court today, the minister wrapped a purple scarf over her head to avoid journalists from capturing clear pictures of her.

Kitutu, who was in police custody, is blamed for neglecting to convey iron sheets and other alleviation items implied for Karamoja, some of which she supposedly redirected to non-planned recipients, including her direct relatives.
Prosecution expresses that the blamed people between the month for June 2022 and January 2023 at the prime minister’s store in Namanve, Mukono region caused loss of property in type of 9000 pre-painted iron sheets of measure 28 and 5,500 pre-painted iron sheets (additionallyguage 28) by redirecting them from the planned reason for helping the Karamoja people group empowerment system to their own advantages, realizing that such demonstrations would result into loss of the said public property.
The minister was captured on Tuesday at Parliament while showing up before the presidential affairs committee which was examining the matter and given over to the Criminal investigations Directorate.
She was then taken to Kibuli where the joint group of CID and State House Against corruption Unit (SHACU) were waiting tight for her. This was after Kitutu scorned the summonses that had been served to her by the Police.
At the point when she showed up before CID, Kitutu purportedly declined to address the detectives, constraining the Police to confine her. At around 10:45 pm, a choice was made to drive Kitutu to Kira Division Police central command in Kira district where she was imprisoned
