Bobi Wine and 700 Others Graduate from Cavendish University

Robert Kyagulanyi, better known as Bobi Wine, the leader of the National Unity Platform (NUP), has added another academic achievement to his name, graduating with a Bachelor of Laws degree from Cavendish University. This milestone complements his earlier educational background, which includes a diploma in Music, Dance, and Drama from Makerere University.

Bobi Wine celebrated his achievement by quoting Nelson Mandela, saying, “Education is the tool you can use to change the world.” This sentiment reflects his ongoing commitment to education and leadership development, which has been evident in his recent initiatives within NUP. Notably, he spearheaded the establishment of the Kavule Training School, aimed at equipping party members with essential leadership skills.

The National Unity Platform, a party founded just four years ago, is increasingly becoming known for its well-educated leadership, with a significant number of lawyers among its ranks. Joel Senyonyi, the Leader of the Opposition, recently also completed his law degree. Other prominent NUP members with legal qualifications include Mathias Mpuuga, Medard Ssegona, and the party’s Secretary General, David Lewis Rubongoya.

Senyonyi expressed his excitement about Bobi Wine’s graduation, announcing on social media, “Ladies and Gentlemen, introducing the newest Lawyer in town. Congratulations Munamateeka Omutendeke!”

Bobi Wine’s latest academic accomplishment not only highlights his personal dedication to education but also serves as an inspiration to his supporters and the broader Ugandan public. With this new qualification, he joins a growing list of NUP leaders who have pursued legal education, further strengthening the party’s foundation as it continues to advocate for change and justice in Uganda.
