Job Summary

The Water Quality Specialist will implement and oversee a comprehensive water quality monitoring and treatment program, working closely with the Engineering and Africa Programs departments at headquarters in Israel.

Reports To

  • Country Manager & Water Quality Supervisor (Local Office)
  • Head Water Quality Specialist (HQ)

Requirements

  • B.Sc./M.Sc. in a science-related discipline
  • Advanced knowledge of water quality control, environmental and health regulations
  • Experience with water testing laboratories, field laboratory equipment, and field sampling
  • Proficiency in data science and Microsoft Excel
  • Driver’s license and off-road driving experience
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • High proficiency in English

Responsibilities

  • Conduct field sampling and analysis; evaluate water quality data
  • Submit reports and updates to the InnoApp database
  • Operate and troubleshoot analytical equipment
  • Coordinate laboratory services and manage supply inventory
  • Research and implement off-grid water treatment solutions
  • Train local staff on pollution sources and water quality issues
  • Conduct community sensitization meetings and promote WASH

Job Summary

The Field Officer will implement IA’s field project activities, supporting new project identification and implementation, community mobilization, and ensuring project sustainability.

Reports To

  • Country Manager

Responsibilities

  • Oversee field operations from project search to evaluation
  • Sensitize communities and establish steering committees
  • Manage relationships with government and district stakeholders
  • Send updates and reports to management
  • Participate in beneficiary selection processes
  • Conduct community meetings and training
  • Track progress and conduct M&E of projects
  • Prepare and manage visits from international teams and donors
  • Represent IA at community, district, and government meetings
  • Respond to communication in a timely manner

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a community-related field
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in community development
  • Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Driver’s license and off-road driving experience
  • High proficiency in English and local languages of the Mbale Region
  • Educational background in international or community development is a benefit

Compensation
