MISSIONS / JOB DIMENSIONS
The Treasurer is based in Kampala and is responsible for managing 500 invoices and expense claims monthly, overseeing bank accounts in 4 currencies (UGX, TZS, USD, GBP) across 5 banks. The role involves managing financial debt, bank accounts, and Forex, preparing cash calls, and ensuring timely payments. The Treasurer will also assist the Chief Accountant during audits and participate in implementing a new ERP system.

ACTIVITIES:

• Compare daily bank balances with the Cash Analysis Excel file.
• Plan and prepare payment proposals in ERP.
• Schedule interbank transfers and negotiate FX deals.
• Interface with the UK head office for financing.
• Ensure timely settlement of payments and update the Cash Analysis Excel file.
• Avoid negative balances on bank accounts.
• Perform midmonth bank reconciliations.
• Resolve bank-related issues.
• Prepare monthly Treasury forecasts and reconcile them with end-of-month balances.
• Prepare cash calls for shareholders and lenders.
• Assist during external audits and participate in ERP implementation.

CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT:

• Completion of Shareholders Agreement by year-end 2021.
• Transition from TEAM BV to EACOP Ltd at SHA completion.
• Implementation of a new ERP for EACOP Ltd.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Timely payment of vendor invoices & expense claims.
• Efficient cash management.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Finance – ACCA Level 2.

Experience:

• Minimum 10 years’ experience in Treasury and Accounting, ideally in Oil & Gas or Banking with international exposure.
• Knowledge of SAP or similar ERP, Microsoft Office Suite.

Competencies:

• Strong technical skills in treasury, accounting, and ERP systems.
• Analytical mind, process-focused, attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; team spirit; ability to cope with pressure and deadlines.
• Excellent level of English (spoken & written).

Activities:

• Manage and coordinate engineering projects from conception to completion.
• Plan, design, and develop engineering projects while assisting with project objectives, scope, timelines, budgeting, and cost control.
• Develop technical specifications, project estimates, prepare engineering drawings, and review schematics.
• Work with vendors and contractors to select materials and equipment designs and monitor project progress.
• Analyze data and prepare reports for stakeholders.
• Provide technical support and guidance to project team members.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
• Participate in design, tests, and inspections to ensure project quality.
• Manage interactions with suppliers and contractors and assess their performance.

Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Electrical, IT, and Telecoms with previous project management experience in Energy, utilities, or Telecoms.
• Certified Project Manager, familiar with ITIL processes and tools.
• Experience in engineering or project management.
• Skills in project management, supervision, decision making, and leadership.
• Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices, and performance standards.
