Summary

True North Consult Ltd is seeking a dedicated and experienced Treasurer to join our team in Kampala. The Treasurer will report to the Financial Controller and will play a key role in managing the company’s treasury functions, ensuring efficient cash management and timely payments.

Job Details

Reports To: Financial Controller

Context and Environment:

  • Completion of Shareholders Agreement by year-end 2021
  • Transition from TEAM BV to EACOP Ltd at SHA completion
  • Implementation of a new ERP system for EACOP Ltd (Finance and HR)

Missions / Job Dimensions:

  • Handle 500 invoices and expense claims monthly
  • Manage bank accounts in four currencies (UGX, TZS, USD, GBP) across five banks
  • Work with EACOP Ltd, a UK company with branches in Uganda and Tanzania, and four shareholders (TotalEnergies, UNOC, TPDC, and UNOC)
  • Oversee day-to-day treasury functions including financial debt, bank accounts, and forex management

Key Activities:

  • Compare daily bank balances and Cash Analysis Excel file
  • Plan and prepare payment proposals in ERP with respective bank accounts
  • Schedule interbank transfers and negotiate FX deals
  • Interface with UK head office for equity and external debt financing
  • Ensure timely settlement of payments
  • Update the Cash Analysis Excel file for every payment
  • Stamp and file paid invoices
  • Avoid daily negative balances on bank accounts
  • Conduct mid-month bank reconciliations
  • Resolve issues related to accounts/payments with banks
  • Prepare monthly Treasury forecasts and reconcile with actual balances
  • Prepare cash calls sent to shareholders and lenders
  • Assist Chief Accountant during external audits
  • Participate in the implementation of EACOP’s new ERP

Accountabilities:

  • Timely payment of vendor invoices and expense claims
  • Efficient cash management

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Finance, ACCA Level 2

Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Treasury and Accounting, preferably in Oil & Gas or Banking sector with international exposure
  • Proficiency in SAP or similar ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite

Competencies:

  • Strong technical skills in treasury, accounting, and ERP systems
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; team spirit; ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines
  • Excellent English proficiency (spoken and written)

Work Hours: 8

Experience in Months: 120

Level of Education: Postgraduate Degree

Summary

True North Consult Ltd is looking for a Project Engineer to oversee housing projects. The successful candidate will ensure the proper implementation of construction projects, compliance with safety and regulatory requirements, and timely completion of projects.

Job Details

Activities:

  • Implement construction/project contracts
  • Manage investment budgets and ensure timely project completion
  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality standards
  • Advise on technical and regulatory aspects
  • Ensure all statutory requirements for construction are met
  • Update technical information and site data accurately
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop prevention plans

Qualification:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or Construction Management

Experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience in supervising engineering projects
  • Experience in a Petroleum company is an added advantage
  • Proficient in Engineering Projects Management and AutoCAD
