Apply for the Rhodes Global Scholarships 2025 for Postgraduate Study at the University of Oxford, United Kingdom (Fully Funded) for Ugandans

Applications are now open for the 2025 Rhodes Global Scholarships. This prestigious scholarship is a fully funded, full-time postgraduate award that enables talented young individuals from around the world to study at the University of Oxford. Rhodes Scholars come to the UK for two or more years and can apply to study most full-time postgraduate courses offered by Oxford University.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Nationality/Citizenship:
   • You can only apply for the Global Scholarships if you are not eligible to apply through any existing Rhodes constituency.
   • If you have a strong connection to a Rhodes constituency but do not meet their eligibility criteria, you should consider interjurisdictional consideration rather than the Global Scholarship.
2. Age:
   • You must meet either of the below criteria:
     • Be aged 18-23 on 1 October 2024 (born after 1 October 2000 and before 2 October 2006).
     • OR, if older and completed your first undergraduate degree later than usual, be under the age of 27 on 1 October 2024 (born after 1 October 1997) AND have completed your first undergraduate degree on or after 1 October 2023.
3. Academic Achievement:
   • You must have completed an undergraduate degree by July 2023.
   • Must have an academic background and grade that meets or exceeds the specific entry requirements of your chosen course at the University of Oxford.
   • Higher chances of admission with:
     • A First Class Honours Degree or equivalent, or
     • A GPA of 3.70/4.0 or higher.
   • Must meet the University of Oxford’s English language requirements.

Scholarship Worth

The Rhodes Scholarship includes:

• Oxford University course fees.
• An annual stipend of £19,092 per annum (£1,591 per month).
• Application fee for the University of Oxford covered by the Rhodes Trust.
• Student visa fee and associated International Health Surcharge (IHS) covered.
• Two economy class flights (to and from the UK) at the beginning and end of studies.
• A settling-in allowance upon arrival in Oxford.
• Assistance with visa renewal and IHS fee for those transitioning to a second course of study.

How to Apply

1. Complete the Online Application Form:
   • Submit the application form online by 23:59 GMT, 1 August 2024.
   • There is no application fee for the Rhodes Scholarship.
2. Prepare the Required Documents:
   • Personal details (contact information).
   • Evidence of eligibility.
   • Education history, including university transcripts.
   • Proposed course(s) at the University of Oxford.
   • A CV (template provided in the application form).
   • An Academic Statement.
   • A Personal Statement.
   • Four referees.
3. Submit Application:
   • Apply for the Rhodes Scholarship before applying for your proposed course at Oxford.
   • If selected, apply for your chosen course via the University of Oxford’s graduate application form with support from Rhodes House.
   • If unsuccessful, you may re-apply once more in the same constituency, subject to eligibility criteria.
