About the Internship:

The Evaluation, Research and Learning (ERL) Internship at Climate Smart Jobs (CSJ) offers an excellent opportunity for a university graduate to gain hands-on experience in the field of Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning. CSJ is a program funded by the UK’s International Climate Fund (ICF) and focuses on climate-smart agriculture to support job creation and income improvement for smallholder farmers, especially women, refugees, and host communities in Uganda.

Scope of Work:

As an ERL Intern, you will:

  • Assist in documenting program learnings, evidence, and activities.
  • Support data collection, verification, and compilation.
  • Help ensure reports from partners meet CSJ standards.
  • Compile various reports and presentations.
  • Assist with scheduling meetings, trainings, and workshops.
  • Participate in developing and implementing ERL plans.

Qualifications:

  • Education: A university degree in a relevant field (e.g., Monitoring and Evaluation, Economics, Social Sciences).
  • Experience: No prior work experience required. Courses in monitoring, evaluation, and learning are advantageous.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    • Detail-oriented with strong communication skills in English.
    • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
    • Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills.

Location and Working Arrangements:

  • Duty Station: Based in Kampala or Gulu, with potential travel to other districts in Northern Uganda.
  • Hours: Full-time (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM). Flexibility to work beyond normal hours may be required.

Contract and Benefits:

  • Duration: 6-month contract with a stipend.
  • Note: This internship aims to provide work experience with no expectation of employment at the end. Refugees and people living in refugee-hosting communities are encouraged to apply.
