Apply for the ACU Routledge/Round Table Commonwealth Studentships Program 2024/2025 for Ugandans

The ACU Routledge/Round Table Commonwealth Studentships Program 2024/2025 is now accepting applications. This program provides PhD students with the opportunity to receive funding for research on Commonwealth-related themes, with each studentship valued at GBP 5,500.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible, your proposed research must:

  • Relate to the Commonwealth as a whole or any Commonwealth-wide institution or organisation.
  • Have a Commonwealth comparative aspect.
  • Be relevant to more than one Commonwealth country.

Applications are encouraged from a broad range of disciplines in the humanities and social sciences, with a preference for subjects typically covered by The Round Table journal, such as politics, international relations, economics, international history, geography, law, development studies, and area studies.

Requirements

  • PhD students registered at UK universities.
  • PhD students registered at ACU member universities in Commonwealth countries other than the UK.
  • Applicants should identify and work with a mentor at a university in a Commonwealth country other than their own.

Benefits

  • Two studentships are available, each with a maximum value of GBP 5,500.
  • Mentorship from an expert in a subject linked to the applicant’s research.
  • Publication opportunities in The Round Table journal.
  • Requirement to produce a 4,000 to 6,000-word article and a podcast based on the research.
