Overall Purpose of the Job: To provide supervision and disseminate the recommended sugar cane technologies to outgrowers’ farmers to improve productivity and achieve the set planting and supply targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise land preparation, planting, upkeep, harvesting, and delivery activities to enable farmers to achieve good yields.
  • Ensure compliance with commercial sugarcane practices during all land cultivation activities.
  • Supervise subordinate staff, including tractor operators and field assistants.
  • Monitor all fields in the area of operation and establish relationships with outgrowers.
  • Maintain vigilance on crop health to advise farmers on sugarcane husbandry practices.
  • Follow up with defaulting outgrowers to ensure they meet their obligations to the company.
  • Process applications, verify and identify suitable land for sugarcane growing.
  • Regularly update farmers’ files and maintain a list of permitted suppliers.
  • Prepare block clearance lists and maintain a register of all registered farmers.
  • Identify prospective farmers for the outgrowers’ scheme.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum Diploma in Agriculture, Crop Production, Mechanisation, or Irrigation from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in agricultural development.
  • Sensitization and training skills, knowledge of best agricultural practices, computer literacy, and good communication skills.
  • Ability to mobilize workers to achieve targets.

Overall Purpose of the Job: Ensure that payments or revenues comply with the financial rules of the company and are supported by necessary documents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Check the arithmetic accuracy of transactions and account coding.
  • Ensure the balance of suppliers and customers aligns with statements.
  • Investigate suspected cases of fraud and report findings promptly.
  • Reconcile VAT, PAYE, Withholding Tax, and NSSF.
  • Audit employees’ files and labor procedures from a financial perspective.
  • Audit various ledgers, bankbooks, sales, and purchase records.
  • Check payment vouchers and undertake random physical stock counts.
  • Verify store purchases and handle invoice vouching.
  • Verify final dues for retired employees.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Manager of Internal Audit.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting & Finance, Commerce, CPA level two, or ACCA level two is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of three years of practical experience in a related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounts, physical stock verification, analytical skills, numerical accuracy, and computerized accounts.
  • Good supervisory, communication, and interpersonal skills.
