Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support Finance Officers.
  • Lead cross-functional teams on Field Finance Policies and Operations.
  • Ensure accurate and timely Accounting System data entry.
  • Review Finance Officer reports for accuracy.
  • Train and develop Finance Officers.
  • Provide financial reporting to Canada and the Fundraising Team.
  • Update and implement financial policies.
  • Improve cash management and field office accounting.
  • Review and manage Beyonic payments.
  • Oversee Bookkeeping and monthly account reconciliations.
  • Update internal systems with financial data.
  • Assist with Payroll, NSSF, WHT, and PAYE reconciliation.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports.
  • Suggest improvements for efficiency and cost savings.
  • Train staff on financial processes and procedures.
  • Support donor reporting and represent the Senior Finance Manager in meetings.
  • Oversee Data contractor payments and validate deductions.
  • Consolidate and analyze departmental budgets.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Finance or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years in accounting and bookkeeping, with senior finance experience.
  • CPA or ACCA level III or IV preferred.
  • Experience with Sage Accounting Software is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of financial management procedures by international donors.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong ethics and ability to manage confidential data.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.

  • Ensure completeness of payment documentation weekly.
  • Compute WHT from taxable invoices weekly.
  • Update WHT Template for monthly return filing weekly.
  • Maintain Data collector’s PAYE and NSSF Template weekly.
  • Keep financial documents organized and up-to-date for reference and audit.
  • Withdraw project funds, disburse, and keep accurate records.
  • Update internal financial systems.
  • Scan and number finance documents weekly for review.
  • Participate in budgeting and budget tracking.
  • Implement financial policies.
  • Send and follow up on invoices and receipts.
  • Reconcile project accountabilities.
  • Report any financial procedure violations.
  • Suggest improvements for accuracy, efficiency, and cost savings.
  • Manage and submit accountability documents weekly.
  • Support staff by explaining financial information.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Business Administration or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years in Finance Management, Administration, and Accounting.
  • Knowledge of WHT, PAYE, and NSSF filing preferred.
  • Any level of CPA or ACCA is an advantage.
  • Excellent mathematical, analytical, and numerical skills.
  • Knowledge of accounting and financial regulations.
  • Strong ethics and ability to manage confidential data.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
