Job Summary:
We are looking for Research Assistants to join our team in conducting research aimed at developing an educational model for refugee and internally displaced communities in East Africa. This model will help recipients overcome educational barriers and engage in gainful employment.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development and validation of research tools.
- Assist in designing and developing research activities and documents.
- Participate in field data collection and debrief sessions.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines.
- Follow protocols for storing both qualitative and quantitative data.
- Engage in project meetings, workshops, and dissemination activities.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Lead Researcher.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Ability to conduct field research using various methods.
- Bachelor’s degree in humanitarian studies, education, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
- At least two years of experience in research data collection, including literature reviews and interviews.
- Strong ability to work independently, multi-task, and meet deadlines.
- Experience with refugee or internally displaced persons (IDPs) communities is advantageous.
Contract and Remuneration:
The selected candidates will receive an annual contract (renewable) with remuneration based on days worked. HERS-EA will cover project-related expenses such as travel and accommodation.
