Job Purpose:
Growth of the loan portfolio by recruiting new clients while maintaining portfolio quality, marketing, assessing loan access capacity, monitoring, recovery, and client relationship maintenance.

Key Result Areas:

  1. Business Growth:
    • Recruit clients in the assigned segment (Micro, Small & SME) to achieve loan portfolio growth and disbursement targets.
    • Assess potential loan clients to ensure they meet the required borrowing standards from OBUL.
    • Manage relationships with existing customers.
    • Cross-sell bank products to new and existing customers.
  2. Monitoring and Managing Portfolio:
    • Track all clients, identify potential default cases, and develop mitigants.
    • Ensure clients comply with OBUL policies and loan terms and conditions.
    • Maintain portfolio quality standards.
  3. Reporting:
    • Prepare weekly and monthly reports for the Branch Manager.
    • Discuss weekly performance with the immediate supervisor.
  4. Building Customer Relationships:
    • Visit clients and resolve customer-related issues.
    • Handle client inquiries and guide them on loan applications and bank payment channels.
  5. Recovery:
    • Recover defaulted loans.

Requirements:

  • University degree, preferably in a business-related discipline.
  • Professional qualifications in microfinance, banking, finance, or marketing are an added advantage.
  • Relevant credit experience is an added advantage.
  • Credit pass in Maths and English at ‘O’ Level.
  • Advanced people management and motivation skills.
  • Good understanding of credit risk management and sales management.
  • Strong customer service skills.

Job Description:
Implement and monitor activities within the Bank’s Procurement unit to ensure smooth operations. Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders while maintaining high integrity and compliance with the Bank’s policies, procedures, and best practices.

Key Result Areas:

  • Develop the Bank’s procurement plan and cost-benefit solutions, establishing budgetary and risk implications.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for service providers and respond to user needs.
  • Develop and execute the organization-wide procurement plan.
  • Plan and coordinate periodic prequalification of suppliers and ensure timely submission for approval.
  • Align company procurement needs with existing category strategies and agreements.
  • Support tax planning and management within the supply chain.
  • Manage the tendering process in compliance with procurement policies.
  • Oversee goods and services acquisition and disposal from needs assessment to contract award.
  • Research market trends and advise the business.
  • Enforce socially and environmentally responsible procurement procedures.
  • Monitor and escalate procurement risk management issues.
  • Participate in internal and external audits and take corrective actions.
  • Provide leadership and supervision to the procurement team and suppliers.
  • Attend and participate in Tender committee meetings and manage procurement records.
  • Oversee invoice management and insurance functions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Procurement and Logistics/Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or any business-related degree.
  • CIPS Certification is mandatory. Post-graduate qualifications like an MBA are an added advantage.
  • At least 3 years in procurement and general administration, with 2 years at the officer level.
  • Knowledge of Ugandan banking regulations and statutory requirements.
