Summary

Bank of Africa – Uganda Ltd is seeking a Regional Manager to manage and support branches within the designated region by providing business leadership, driving a culture of service excellence, and fostering operational effectiveness to grow market share and achieve BOA-Uganda’s overall business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Target Achievement: Receive and cascade regional business targets. Lead teams in strategy design and monitor performance, initiating corrective actions as needed.
  2. Market Initiatives: Drive market initiatives and promote the bank’s products to acquire new business and grow existing accounts.
  3. Customer Service Excellence: Cultivate a culture of customer service excellence and maintain communication channels for customer needs.
  4. Market Intelligence: Monitor competitor activities and evolving market conditions to provide insights for business strategies.
  5. Branch Profitability: Monitor and drive branch profitability and manage Non-Performing-Assets (NPA) ratios.
  6. Budget Management: Initiate branch-driven budget formulation and ensure regional budget discipline.
  7. Operational Discipline: Ensure operational discipline and conformity to bank regulations and resolve audit findings.
  8. Regional Synergies: Explore new opportunities for regional synergies.
  9. Staff Performance: Manage regional staff performance, motivation, and development. Provide input for learning and development interventions.
  10. Reporting: Compile and submit regular business reports on key regional business areas.
  11. Additional Duties: Perform any other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Education: University degree in business, marketing, finance, or banking. Professional or post-graduate qualification preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in banking, with at least 2 years at a supervisory level.
  • Competencies:
    • Direct selling, sales management, and relationship management experience.
    • Strong strategic and conceptual skills.
    • Leadership and team management skills.
    • Customer centricity and business acumen.
    • Proven credit risk management.
    • Decision-making, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
    • Ability to build internal and external networks.
    • Ability to work under pressure and exercise excellent judgment.

Summary

Bank of Africa – Uganda Ltd is seeking a Head of SME Banking to drive the SME Business, achieve and exceed business goals through a dynamic growth strategy and vigilant relationship management within the SME market segment.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic leadership to SME Banking to support growth strategies and achieve business goals.
  2. Product Development: Develop and drive value chain strategy through innovative SME & value chain solutions.
  3. Sales Process Management: Ensure a vigorous sales process from prospecting to closure to meet business growth objectives.
  4. Customer Insight: Create customer insights through portfolio analysis and value-driven relationship management strategies.
  5. Service Excellence: Promote a culture of excellent service and quality relationship management.
  6. Business Deals: Guide the negotiation and structuring of business deals to protect the bank’s interests.
  7. Inter-departmental Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments for timely and efficient preparation of high-quality credit proposals.

  11. Team Management: Manage, motivate, and develop the SME Banking team through performance management, coaching, and mentoring.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Education: Masters’ Degree in Business, Finance, Banking, Marketing, or related field. Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CFA, CIMA, CPA preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years in financial services business development, with at least 4 years at senior management level.
  • Competencies:
    • Direct selling, sales management, and relationship management experience.
    • Strong strategic and conceptual skills.
    • Leadership and team management skills.
    • Customer centricity and business acumen.
    • Proven credit risk management and facility structuring skills.
    • Decision-making, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.
    • Networking skills and the ability to influence key stakeholders.
    • Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure and exercise excellent judgment.
