Job Title: Quality Manager

Role Overview:

As the Quality Manager at De Heus Animal Nutrition, you will play a critical role in ensuring that all finished fish feed products adhere to both De Heus and Ugandan quality and safety standards. This position demands a deep understanding of quality control processes, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead a team to meet and exceed quality objectives. Additionally, you will uphold HSSE (Health, Safety, Security & Environment) standards and work closely with both the local production and purchasing teams as well as the quality team in the Netherlands.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement quality assurance policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular quality audits and inspections.
  • Monitor and analyze quality performance data, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Lead and manage the quality control team, providing training and guidance.
  • Collaborate with production and purchasing teams to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Investigate and resolve quality issues and customer complaints.
  • Maintain accurate quality records and documentation.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes.
  • Set and uphold HSSE standards.

What We Expect:

  • Degree in Food Science, Animal Nutrition, Quality Management, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar role, with 3 years in a senior management position.
  • Knowledge of quality control processes, HACCP, GMP, and relevant standards.
  • Experience with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, FSSC 22000).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Experience with HSSE.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI.

Job Title: Purchase Manager

Role Overview:

As the Purchase Manager, you will oversee the procurement of raw materials and office supplies, ensuring a steady supply of high-quality materials. Your role involves strategic planning, supplier relationship management, cost control, and timely delivery of materials. You will work closely with the formulations team in the Netherlands and local departments including quality, production, and sales. This role will evolve from establishing processes and recruiting team members to managing day-to-day procurement activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies to ensure reliable material supply.
  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers for quality, cost, and reliability.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers.
  • Monitor market trends and anticipate price fluctuations.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
  • Conduct regular supplier audits in collaboration with the quality team.
  • Resolve supplier issues and disputes.
  • Analyze procurement data and prepare performance reports.
  • Develop inventory control procedures and manage transport arrangements.

What We Expect:

  • Degree in Purchasing & Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar role, with 3 years in a senior management position.
  • Knowledge in market research, data analysis, and forecasting techniques.
  • Highly organized, efficient, and proactive.
  • Strong problem-solving, conflict-handling, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI.
