Job Summary:
The Pharmacy Technician will handle the receiving, dispensing, ordering, and inventory management of pharmaceuticals at Makerere University Lung Institute. This role involves ensuring the accurate distribution and management of medications and working in collaboration with pharmacists and clinicians.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Manage pharmaceutical products and supplies, including receiving, storing, and distributing them.
- Process orders and prescriptions with adherence to pharmacy policies.
- Conduct quality control checks on medications and manage inventory.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Provide regular reports on pharmacy activities and ensure the cleanliness of the pharmacy station.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Diploma in Pharmacy from a recognized institution in Uganda.
- Registration with the Allied Health Professionals body.
- At least 2 years of post-qualification experience, preferably in a research setting.
- Proficiency in computer skills.

Job Summary:
The Laboratory Technician will be responsible for collecting, processing, and analyzing blood and other test specimens, ensuring timely delivery of results to clinicians and patients.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Collect and label test specimens accurately, following standard operating procedures.
- Process and prepare specimens for laboratory testing.
- Maintain a register of all requested tests and ensure timely results delivery.
- Clean and maintain the laboratory equipment and work area.
- Assist in data compilation for monthly reports and develop standard operating procedures.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology.
- Registration with the Allied Health Medical Professional Council and a valid Annual Practicing License (APL).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical or medical research laboratory.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
