Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate Milling Machine
  • Create components for molds, machines, etc.
  • Measure and verify dimensions using appropriate tools
  • Perform boring, drilling, threading, and tapping
  • Prepare tools for machining
  • Load feed mechanism by lifting stock into position
  • Verify settings by measuring positions, first-run parts, and sample workpieces
  • Maintain specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, and threading
  • Detect malfunctions, replace worn tools, clean machine, and clear metal chips
  • Report faulty operation of equipment or defective materials to the area supervisor
  • Operate lifting devices for the movement of materials and equipment as needed
  • Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly
  • Abide by company safety and personnel policies
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor
  • Conform to environmental management system requirements
  • Ability to work overtime as needed

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
  • 2 to 3 years relevant experience in a plastic manufacturing plant
  • Ability to operate conventional machine tools
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and technical documentation
  • Strong knowledge of machine tools and machining operations
  • Knowledge of measuring tools (calipers and micrometers)
  • Ability to coordinate and oversee complex machining operations
  • Physical strength, manual dexterity, and precise hand/eye coordination
  • Precision and attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team

Work Hours: 8
Experience in Months: 24
Level of Education: Associate Degree

Job Title: Shift Supervisor (Recycling Plant)

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and take responsibility for a production shift
  • Provide technical guidance and support to subordinates in the manufacturing department
  • Oversee preventive maintenance and report malfunctions to the Production Officer
  • Assign work to subordinates
  • Assist in the appraisal and performance evaluation of subordinates
  • Prepare daily shift production reports
  • Participate in routine stock taking at the plant
  • Monitor the movement of finished products from the production plant to the warehouse
  • Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources
  • Ensure compliance with established policies and procedures
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Production Officer

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
  • Two years of relevant experience in a manufacturing plant in a supervisory position
  • Ability to effectively control manpower
  • Good communication skills, including reading skills
  • Aptitude for math
  • Mechanical ability and ability to work in high places
  • Proven ability to get along with co-workers
  • Ability to keep up to date with changing technology
  • High degree of creativity and ability to do precision work
  • Good knowledge of HACCP and general ISO standards
