Job Purpose:
Accountable for the smooth running of all the central operations of the Bank. The role is accountable for ensuring that necessary controls are implemented while delivering efficient service across all the Bank’s operations.
Key Result Areas:
- Ensuring branches meet their set targets in assets, liabilities, and value-added services.
- Supervise branch operations in liaison with regional managers regarding tools of trade, staffing, internal controls, policies, and procedures.
- Follow up on audit, compliance, and regulatory compliance findings to ensure there are no repeat findings.
- Conduct regular training for branch, regional managers, and head office department staff in identified gaps.
- Review and recommend policy changes regularly to the head of banking operations.
- Make regular branch visits to address outstanding issues and advise management on next steps.
- Submit regular reports to the supervisor.
- Respond timely to staff and customer service needs in the branches and at the head office.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Minimum Educational and Technical Competence Requirements:
- A business degree in finance, commerce, business administration, economics, statistics, management, or any relevant field.
- At least 5 years of experience in the financial services industry (at least management level).
- Knowledge of the regulatory framework of the banking industry.
- Knowledge of operating systems, database systems, and system integration.
- Knowledge of inter-bank clearing, funds transfer processes, and SWIFT systems.
- Strong exposure to banking technology solutions and understanding of banking.
- Proven track record in the effective implementation of projects and change management operations.
- Experience in business continuity management and the development of business recovery plans.

Role of the Job:
Responsible for driving innovation, leveraging emerging technologies, and implementing automation solutions to enhance operational efficiency, customer experience, and overall competitiveness of Finance Trust Bank.
Key Result Areas:
- Technology Innovation: Identify and evaluate emerging technologies that have the potential to transform the financial services and banking operations of Finance Trust Bank. Conduct research and development activities to explore innovative solutions and stay ahead of industry trends. Oversee the implementation of innovative technologies and ensure seamless integration into existing systems and processes.
- Digital Transformation: Lead digital transformation initiatives within Finance Trust Bank, focusing on adopting digital channels, automation, and modern technologies to streamline processes and improve customer experiences.
- Automation Strategy: Develop and implement an automation strategy targeting repetitive and manual processes across various departments within the Bank. Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency gains through robotic process automation (RPA) and other automation technologies.
- Risk Management and Compliance: Work closely with risk management and compliance teams to ensure that innovative solutions and automated processes adhere to regulatory requirements and security standards. Implement robust risk management practices for new technologies.
- Training and Change Management: Develop training programs for staff to adapt to new technologies and automation tools. Facilitate change management processes to ensure smooth transitions to automated workflows.
- Metrics and Reporting: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and impact of innovation and automation initiatives. Provide regular reports and updates to management on achievements and contributions.
- Continuous Improvement: Regularly assess the effectiveness of implemented solutions and identify opportunities for refinement and enhancement. Manage the performance of section staff through recruitment, performance management, and ensuring they meet productivity targets.
Minimum Educational and Technical Competence Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science/engineering/computer management/information technology or related qualification.
- Project Management Certification is an added advantage.
- Advanced experience developing data-driven applications with PostgreSQL or MySQL is required; Oracle, MS SQL Server, H2 SQL is highly desirable.
- Any Robotics Process Automation (RPA) certification will be advantageous.
- Certifications in Agile and Scrum development will be advantageous.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in systems development and process optimization, with at least 2 years in application development and coding.
- Ability to translate strategy into achievable performance objectives.
- Sound knowledge of general banking law and operational practices.
- Familiarity with security principles and best practices in software development.
- Proficiency in developing and troubleshooting complex software systems that run in mixed environments including Linux, Unix, and/or Windows.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Experience in designing and implementing API integrations.
- Current knowledge of computer hardware and software trends.
- Good people management skills and ability to monitor third-party contractors.
- Time management skills.
- Good leadership, results-oriented, agile & adaptable, analytical, and systematic thinking skills.
- The ability to communicate clearly in a professional manner is essential.
- Takes clear accountability and focuses on the delivery of broader corporate goals.
- Ability to make decisions and progress towards goals in conditions of uncertainty.
- Ability to demonstrate a positive image and uphold FTB values.
- Must be a person of integrity.
