  • Stay up-to-date with changes in laws and regulations affecting the banking industry.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure legal compliance in all business activities.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of compliance policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with external legal counsel when required.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in law.
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice.
  • Strong knowledge of financial laws and regulations.
  • Ability to interpret complex legal documents and provide practical advice.
  • Good understanding of risk management principles.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create and implement policies and procedures to administer loan products.
  • Interview, hire, and train loan officers for loan processes.
  • Check loan contracts to ensure they are complete and accurate.
  • Oversee or assist with the approval and rejection of loan requests.
  • Monitor meetings between Relationship Managers (RM) and clients.
  • Create lists of required documents for loan applications.
  • Determine loan rate programs, and train RMs and clients on their calculations.
  • Provide information such as collateral needs or required documentation to process loans.
  • Coordinate the presentation of complete loan application packages to the credit office.
  • Follow up on loan status and communicate with clients.
  • Instruct RM and legal to follow up with delinquent clients to ensure payments are made.
  • Create and approve letters and notices regarding loan condition changes.
  • Remind clients about pending payments through various communication channels.
  • Oversee system boarding and verification procedures for all loans.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Banking, and Finance, or a relevant field.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a leadership position, preferably in a financial institution.
  • A minimum of 4 years’ experience as a credit officer/relationship manager.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
