INSPIRE Program (2024-2029):
In partnership with GOAL and Wageningen Environmental Research, the INSPIRE program seeks to promote resilient economic and agricultural development in rural communities of the Lango and Busoga regions of Uganda. Resiliencia Uganda, our sister company, is responsible for implementing the Sustainable Farming Systems component of this program.

Position Summary:
We are seeking a proactive Land Management Officer to assist smallholder farmers in implementing sustainable land management techniques and enhancing resilience. You will join a team of 9 officers and work in one of 9 districts within the Lango and Busoga sub-regions.

Responsibilities:

  • Overall Project Support: Collaborate with other INSPIRE program technicians and support broader program activities, especially in land and water management.
  • Promotion of Sustainable Farming Systems: Assist farmers with land management needs, develop integrated farm plans, provide training on climate-smart agriculture, and organize farmer exchange visits and competitions.
  • Training and Capacity Building: Conduct trainer-of-trainers (ToT) sessions, provide technical training, establish demonstration fields, and contribute to video content showcasing best practices.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Science, Soil Science, Environmental Management, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Experience: 5-10 years in sustainable land management.
  • Skills: Expertise in smallholder practices, soil & water management, community engagement.
  • Languages: Fluent in English and local languages of Lango and Busoga.
  • Location: Eastern Uganda (Lango Sub-Region [Lira] & Busoga Sub-Region [Jinja]).
