Job Purpose
Exim Bank (Uganda) Limited is seeking an experienced IT Security Risk Manager to develop and oversee the bank’s information security management program. The successful candidate will ensure the protection of information assets, manage information security risks, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements while enhancing the bank’s IT risk posture.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct vulnerability assessments to identify and address security weaknesses.
- Analyze information protection technologies and processes to detect risks.
- Perform risk assessments on data processing systems and ensure logical controls are effective.
- Review audit trails, system logs, and user access rights regularly.
- Conduct risk assessments for data protection and third-party vendors.
- Oversee security incident responses and investigations.
- Guide system enhancements and manage information security training programs.
- Monitor emerging security threats and ensure IT infrastructure adheres to best practices.
- Assess and report on backup procedures and disaster recovery plans.
- Validate and review change management processes to ensure compliance.

Academic and Professional Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Certifications such as CISA, CRISC, CISM, or CISSP are preferred.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in information security, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain software applications using technologies such as .NET, C#, HTML, PHP, JavaScript, and SQL.
- Collaborate with team members on API design and system integrations.
- Participate in the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment.
- Ensure software quality through unit testing, code reviews, and continuous integration.
- Troubleshoot and debug applications to resolve issues and enhance performance.
- Document development processes and best practices.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends.
Skills & Competencies
- Experience with software development and agile methodologies.
- Understanding of web services, APIs, and integration techniques.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
