Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide operational and technical support for IT Computer Lab facilities.
  • Install equipment and software required in the IT Computer labs under the supervision of Senior Network and Senior System Administrators.
  • Arrange for servicing and repair of IT Computer Lab equipment.
  • Perform routine audits of systems and software.
  • Answer user queries relating to the use of the IT Computer Lab.
  • Document the configuration of Computer Lab equipment and any changes.
  • Ensure optimum operation of Computer Lab facilities.
  • Facilitate efficient information flow between the Computer Lab department and UIS technical team leaders.
  • Carry out other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Information Technology.
  • Must have graduated from Uganda Christian University no later than 2021 with a 1st Class or 2nd Class Upper.
  • Quick learner with knowledge of computer software used for teaching and learning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willing to work beyond conventional hours and on weekends.
  • Committed Christian of high integrity.

Job Vacancy: Junior Writer – Internship

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism or Communication (1st Class or 2nd Class Upper).
  • Must have graduated from Uganda Christian University no more than three years ago.

  • Gather and publish research work and university projects on the website and social media platforms.
  • Support data collection efforts to enhance website updates.
  • Utilize industry best practices to pitch story ideas and content.
  • Produce and post journalistic articles for the university website.
  • Perform any other official duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Proven record of excellent writing in print and digital platforms.
  • Excellent English-language proficiency.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with a team.
  • Openness to learning and adapting.
