Vacancy: Internal Auditor

Job Responsibilities:

• Assess and ensure the effectiveness of corporate governance, internal controls, and systems.
• Monitor compliance with laws, regulations, and internal policies; evaluate efficiency and effectiveness of operations.
• Conduct Risk Based and Concurrent Audits of branches and departments as per the Annual Audit Plan.
• Suggest improvements to existing systems and procedures to prevent fraud.
• Assist in verifying compliance with Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Countering Financial Terrorism (CFT), and Know Your Customer (KYC) norms.
• Generate and verify daily off-site inspection reports for all branches.
• Verify the reliability of information produced by accounting and computer systems.
• Ensure compliance with laws, policies, and internal checks; detect revenue leakages and ensure recovery.
• Evaluate enforceability of documents for advance accounts and verify asset classification.

Qualification:

• University Graduate with an Honors Degree.
• Fully qualified in accounting with ICPAU membership and at least 3 years post-qualification experience in a banking environment.
• Knowledge of IFRS, Ugandan tax legislation, and the Financial Institutions Act (FIA) 2004.

Requirements:

• Proficiency in computers; fluency in English; strong analytical and numeracy skills.
• Experience in the banking sector is preferred.
• Age: Preferably 35 years; management may consider experience and qualifications beyond this age.

Position : Information Technology Officer

Location: Head Office, Kampala

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide first-level support for ATM, Swift, RTGS, EFT, and clearing systems.
• Offer technical support for all departments, branches, and offices.
• Monitor hardware/software and network installations for new branches and ATMs.
• Manage user administration on CRB, FINACLE, and other utilities.
• Oversee the production of ATM cards and Baroda Connect User IDs & passwords.
• Monitor ATM functionality and attend to complaints; manage ATM site construction.
• Provide support for hardware/software issues and coordinate with vendors.
• Educate customers on technology products and train employees on technology issues.
• Supervise cheque book verification and issuance, and ensure data security and IT department operations.

Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Computer Science with a minimum of 2nd Class Upper GPA.
• Certifications like MCSE, CCNA, Oracle Certified Professional are an added advantage.

Requirements:

• Proficiency in UNIX/LINUX/Windows, Oracle Database administration, SQL, Transact SQL, and Shell Scripting.
• Basic knowledge of Networking (WAN) & Security, and familiarity with Banking Software like Finacle.
• Experience: At least 3 years, including 12 months in a banking or finance environment.
• Age: Preferably 30 years; management may adjust based on qualifications and experience.
