Job Description: The ICT Security Officer will be responsible for securing UgandaITPRIDE’s internal and external network, servers, and network security systems to ensure smooth business operations. Reporting to the Manager ICT Security, you will manage the implementation and maintenance of security controls and tools, monitor compliance, investigate security breaches, and participate in IT security audits and updates.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement, configure, and maintain security controls as per IT Security Policy.
• Install and manage security tools such as firewalls and data encryption.
• Monitor compliance with software/hardware licenses and SLAs.
• Oversee IT controls, report exceptions, and investigate security breaches.
• Participate in periodic IT security audits and updates to operating procedures.
• Research IT security trends and recommend enhancements.
• Conduct vulnerability checks to ensure alignment with ICT policies.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, Business Computing, or equivalent.
• Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, MCSE, CISA, CEH are desirable.
• At least 2 years of experience managing information security in environments including Microsoft, Cisco, UNIX, and Linux.
• Age limit: Not more than 40 years.

Job Description: The Database Administrator will oversee and support UgandaITPRIDE’s ICT database infrastructure. Reporting to the CBS Specialist, you will be responsible for database operations, maintenance, security, and recovery. You will also manage database licenses, develop specifications, and act as a liaison for vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute database operations, maintenance, security, archiving, and recovery procedures.
• Contribute to Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plans.
• Manage database licenses and decommission unused servers.
• Analyze business requirements and develop database specifications.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation and monitor end-of-cycle activities.
• Investigate database issues and address integration problems.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 3 years of experience in a similar role.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Server Operating Systems, UNIX (SOLARIS, Linux), SQL, and database management systems.
• Proficiency in system scripting languages (e.g., PERL, PYTHON, Shell) and open-source RDBMS (e.g., MySQL).
• ICT Security knowledge is advantageous.
