    Human Resources Specialist

    Duties:

    • Serve as a senior principal advisor to the HRO on complex HR management issues.
    • Supervise and manage the full range of personnel functions (LE Staff and American services) at post.
    • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, personnel actions, employee placement and promotion, resignations, disciplinary actions, classification requests, wage surveys, position control records, staffing patterns, personnel records, and periodic reports.
    • Oversee personnel activities for American employees, including processing incoming and outgoing personnel.

    Qualifications:

    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Business Administration.
    • Experience: Minimum five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in human resources management, including at least one (1) year of supervisory experience.
    • Job Knowledge: Substantive knowledge of USG policies, regulations, and procedures; thorough knowledge of local labor and social security laws; good working knowledge of HR management theories, concepts, and practices.
    • Skills and Abilities: Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint; skills in MClass, OPS, and ERA; excellent interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills; good managerial skills and the ability to maintain effective working relationships.

    Job Title: Statistician (Data Management and Statistics Team Lead)

    Deadline: Friday, July 12, 2024

    Summary:

    • Base Salary: Not Disclosed
    • Work Schedule: Full Time, 40 hours per week
    • Start Date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time (4 weeks) following receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.
    • Supervisory Position: Yes

    Duties:

    • Lead the Data Management and Statistics (DMS) Team within the Data Science and Informatics (DSI) Branch at CDC Uganda.
    • Provide statistical, data management, and analytic expertise and support to USG funded projects and activities.
    • Serve as a senior statistician and key public health technical advisor.

    Qualifications:

    • Education: Master’s degree in Public Health, Biostatistics/Statistics, Epidemiology, Data Management, or Informatics.
    • Experience: Four years of progressively responsible experience in statistics, data management, programming, monitoring and evaluation, or health research, including three years of advanced analysis using statistical software (SPSS, SAS, STATA, R), and one year of supervisory experience.
    • Skills and Abilities: Excellent oral and written communication skills; good working knowledge of team management techniques; advanced user level of word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; strong numerical skills for data analysis; statistical and research skills in HIV/AIDS, TB, or STIs.
    • Required Documents:
    • Bachelor’s degree (or host country equivalent) in Human Resources or Business Administration.
    • Proof of Citizenship (National ID or Passport copy).
    • Additional documents for Eligible Family Member Applicants:
      • Copy of Orders/Assignment Notification (or equivalent).
      • DD-214, Letter from Veterans’ Affairs, or other supporting documentation (if applicable).

    Language:

    • English level IV (Fluent) Reading/Writing/Speaking required.
